Our Mission Statement
The Public Health Honor Society (PHHS) at San Jose State University is an honor society that acknowledges and awards undergraduate Public Health students for academic excellence and passion in Public Health. The organization’s members are encouraged to keep their grades up, be involved in the community through volunteer work in various places, and participate in philanthropic activities.
Membership Requirements
- Must be a declared Public Health major or minor
- 3.0 Cumulative GPA
- 3.5 Public Health GPA
- 12 Public Health Units (Completed)
General MEMBER COMMITMENTS (per semester)
- 12 hours of community service
- Attendance of 2 SJSU events/workshops
- Participation at 1 Community Outreach Project (COP) Meeting
- Attendance of ALL 3 member meetings (virtual/in person)
Returning Member Commitments: Graduates
- Attendance of 2 SJSU events/workshops
- Participation at 1 Community Outreach Project (COP) Meeting
- Attendance of ALL 3 member meetings (virtual/in person)
- Senior Letter
New Member Commitments: Graduates
- 4 hours of community service
- Attendance of 2 SJSU events/workshops
